If it is going to impress us, it needs to do everything by the book. We’ve seen too many big brand supplements recently that cut corners or who cannot ensure their customer’s safety.
This could be a new addition to our top recommended pre-workout supplements. In order to achieve this, it needs to give us the following:
- Increased energy
- Enhanced focus
- Greater muscle pumps
- Big gains!
Anything less than this and it won’t have a chance – yes we are that demanding!
Let’s begin by getting to know them a little better.
ProSupps Mr. Hyde NitroX Review: Who Makes This Pre Workout?
Here we have the US-based company behind the product.
It does come with a 30-day money back guarantee which is something we always like to see. Also, it is 3rd party tested which is usually a good sign.
Made in GMP certified facilities they clearly try and do things by the book! With any company this size, comes a range of apparel. They sell everything from T-shirts to branded gym bags.
Also, their product range is expansive. They have something for weight loss, endurance, muscle growth and more.
It is a product that sells well on Amazon. This isn’t an approach that everyone takes and plenty of the products on there are of very low quality.
The first thing we noticed about this product is that it contains artificial flavors, this is something we aren’t a fan of.
Prosupps have some big name partnerships although some of them aren’t exactly linked to the industry. DJ Khaled partnered with one of their energy drinks which is a bit of a strange one. However, they do have some pro athletes on their roster as well.
Time to see if this product is just another pre-workout or the real deal.
ProSupps Mr. Hyde NitroX Ingredients
This is where we can really see if it is going to give you what you want.
The early signs are positive, they do no use proprietary blends. This means we get to take a proper look at all the dosages and can see if each ingredient is useful.
Often just known as Vitamin B3 it gives more insulin resistance and it found in chicken and grains most prominently.
With links to aiding erectile dysfunction and energy metabolism, it has its uses.
By converting carbs into energy you will be able to put more into your gym session but also have more of a chance of getting shredded.
Still, it won’t be fast acting which is what you what you need from your pre-workout.
The 25mg is a decent amount.
With plenty of sources available, it is unlikely that you are not getting enough.
Calcium can help with memory function in terms of how we retrieve information. There is a study that suggests that Calcium can be useful. When tested on a group that supplemented it compared to a group that did not whilst taking part in resistance training, the free testosterone levels of those that did supplement calcium rose.
Not the most important ingredient for this type of supplement though.
A slow start.
At least we are onto the common pre-workout ingredients now.
Still, Beta Alanine isn’t a great start. It is linked to causing paresthesia. This is a tingling sensation that passes after an hour or two. Still, it’s pretty annoying in the gym.
It wouldn’t be so bad if there was a lot of backing for its benefits, which there isn’t. These are thought to be the act that it can battle fatigue and increase the body’s production of Carnosine.
If this was the case, it would mean that your muscles can stay at peak levels for longer periods.
WebMD does say that in high doses it can cause flushing and tingling.
The dosage is high as well. At 2.5 g it is enough for it to cause paresthesia.
A hugely popular ingredient for a pre-workout.
Also, a proven and well-tolerated one. Examine.com says that it is often used by athletes to increase power output and lean mass.
It is not an ingredient you would need to cycle and is well researched. Creatine offers a lot of benefits for your muscles. It provides them with more strength and also increases their energy, even after training.
Creatine gives the muscles what they need to recover faster which also leads to greater gains. Another great attribute is that Growth Factor 1 in your muscle tissue will be increased. This helps with the development and growth of the muscles.
There is a study that shows how Creatine can benefit the body at any time. This discusses the fact that supplementing it during arm flexor strength training led to greater increases in arm flexor muscle strength, upper arm muscle area, and fat-free mass than strength training alone.
The dosage of 1 g is a good one that will offer the above benefits.
A good ingredient and one with a fair bit of backing.
This is the Nitrosinge patented version and it is thought to be a long lasting nitric oxide booster. This means more blood flow to the muscles which is great for those big pumps and gains.
It is thought to be able to stay in the system long after your workout which means it could offer benefits even after you are done in the gym.
It removes toxins that start to gather during your intense workout as well making it a useful inclusion.
The dosage is 500 mg which is a decent amount.
Thankfully, this is included.
We always like to see L-Citrulline as it is another that improves blood flow to the muscles. Once again, this is by promoting nitric oxide levels. It is derived from the likes of watermelon and is an amino acid that is a clever ingredient to include.
It will also provide greater power. L-Citrulline converts into Arginine which helps with creatine synthesis.
The dosage of 500 m is another useful one.
Up there with the most popular ingredients in pre-workout supplements. This is because it has benefits for fat burning, nootropics, and pre-workouts.
The energy boost is an obvious place to start. The more you can commit to your workout, the better the results of course. Also, Caffeine increases focus and alertness. This means you are less likely to reach for your phone every 2 minutes in the gym.
The dosage is important. At 300 mg it is a decent amount. However, this much in one go might be on the high side for some. It might be an idea to build up your tolerance if you are not used to consuming so much Caffeine.
Also, there is 50 mg of Caffeine / Citric Acid blended together, this makes it an even higher dosage.
Another stimulant here, they are starting to stack up.
This is fine but you need to monitor intake. It is a milder form of Caffeine that means the body isn’t going to be as likely to be subject to side effects.
It helps to work against fatigue and boost concentration levels. Di-Caffeine Malate is becoming a popular ingredient in some corners of the bodybuilding industry for this reason.
It helps the user to feel more awake and the dosage of 70 mg would usually be a decent amount if we didn’t already have 300 mg of Caffeine Anhydrous.
Not a great inclusion here.
There isn’t a lot of benefits from using it other than it is another that can increase attention span and memory.
For a nootropic, it would be a good ingredient but since we are after nutrients that work in a pre-workout solution, we want something different.
A good ingredient to include because of the stimulants in this product.
It is a common inclusion and it is often seen alongside Caffeine in particular. The benefits are that it can ensure the good traits of stimulants are delivered, but the user still feels calm and in control.
The last thing you want is to be full of stimulants and unable to concentrate. It makes side effects less likely to occur.
It is found in Green Tea leaves and is well tolerated. L-Theanine even makes sure the positive effects of Caffeine last longer.
The 50 mg isn’t a great amount considering the dosage of the stimulants.
Another good ingredient and again it is because of the stimulants.
It is another that helps you to remain calm and reduces stress. L-Tyrosine also has links to promoting focus in the user.
The dosage of 50 mg is a decent top up.
Similar to Caffeine, we thought we had seen the last of the stimulants.
We were hoping that they were satisfied with what they had in that area. Too many stimulants just gives you the energy boost but it is the more useful ingredients that help with actual muscle pumps and gains.
It does have stress-reducing benefits but this is based on potential. The 25 mg isn’t a big amount anyway.
Anyone lacking in this could find that their mood is affected or they feel anxious.
Extra GABA as it is sometimes known as can means a better nights sleep and even reduce pain. Supplementing it is difficult as it is hard to get it through the blood-brain barrier (see Examine.com).
That means its inclusion here is pointless.
Yohimbe Bark Extract
Not an ingredient you want to be consuming.
It is believed to be an appetite suppressant and can even speed up the way our bodies burn fat but this isn’t what we are looking for anyway.
The potential side effects are what really puts us off.
WebMD advises that when taken orally, it is possibly unsafe. They also advise that Yohimbine has been linked to reports of severe side effects that include heart attacks and seizures, irregular heartbeat, irritability, sleep issues and more.
Also, the man-made yohimbine hydrochloride is illegal to sell in the USA as a dietary supplement.
The higher the dose, the worse the potential side effects. Still, the 3 mg included should not be a danger.

As we mentioned, some of the potential side effects aren’t so bad.
Beta-Alanine can cause paresthesia, a tingling sensation and the dosage included could be enough for this.
The caffeine content could be too high for some. Jitters, insomnia, headaches and a lot more could be experienced as a result.
The Yohimbe content should not be dosed high enough to cause any issues.

Whilst there is a lot of good in this product, there is also a fair bit of filler.
For what it does well, there is still a lot of Caffeine and other stimulants here. To compensate they have had to include various ingredients to reduce stress and make sure their effects are not going to be adverse.
It follows the same path as a lot of supplements. It overloads the stimulants to make the user feel a difference.
This isn’t the only thing that will help in the gym. Thankfully they have recognized this. ProSupps Mr. Hyde NitroX does include some very useful ingredients as well. Creatine, L-Citrulline, and L-Theanine just to name a few definitely earn their place here.
There is plenty to like about it. It just falls short of the best we have seen. For us, only the best is good enough and we never compromise on that.
