Prime Male vs LES Labs Male Health

In a battle of the T boosters, the over 50’s sometimes get overlooked. Our Prime Male vs LES Labs Male Health review helps to see which is the best option for the mature market.

As you might know, our T levels drop year on year from around the age of 30. This doesn’t stop. This is why so many people are turning to natural testosterone boosters to increase their T levels and help reverse some of the effects of time.

As you may have read in some of our other reviews, this is easier said than done. This is why we take it upon ourselves here at CLM to help you find products that work!

So what is it that we are looking for from both of these products today?

The following would be a good start:

  • More Strength
  • Enhanced Libido
  • Elevated Mood
  • Increased Energy

To achieve this, they will need proven ingredients at optimal dosages. Time to see which one is the best testosterone booster.

Prime Male vs LES Labs Male Health: Who Makes These T Boosters?

PropuraPrime Male Testosterone Booster Review

This is the UK based team behind Prime Male.

They have a loyal following, with many people taking to the net to post their before and after profiles. This is one of the more genuine ways of seeing results, at least you can see the proof!

Any company that has a money back guarantee is showing their commitment to customer service. Propura has one for this T booster.

Prime Male is made from 100% natural ingredients and if you are into endorsements then you might be impressed by theirs.

Prime Male has the Rocky legend Dolph Lundgren putting his name to this T booster.

LES Labs

The US-based company behind LES Labs Male Health have been around since 2009.

With a 60-day money back guarantee, they are another company honoring their customer’s needs. They make their products in GMP certified facilities.

They have a wide range of products as well. This includes the likes of Detoxx for hangovers, mood support and cortisol health to name a few.

They do have a blog section on their site, but it hasn’t been updated since 2014!

Time to see what goes into each product.

Prime Male vs LES Labs Male Health: Ingredients

Now we get to see how different they are.

The good news here is that neither product uses proprietary blends. We see them too often and when they are not used it means we get to check out all the dosages.

The serving suggestions definitely favor Prime Male though.

They advise taking one capsule 3-4 times a day. This means your T levels are constantly topped up. LES Labs Male Health advises taking just 1-2 capsules a day. Unless it is dangerously potent, it is unlikely to keep T levels up all day.

Mutual Ingredients

Zinc

Among the best T booster ingredients on the market.

We’re a big fan of this ingredient and without it, our bodies cannot create more testosterone.

Zinc stimulates the luteinizing hormone. This communicates with the testes to create and release more testosterone. You won’t believe how many T boosters we come across that do not include Zinc!

It is even good for ensuring we do not deplete T levels so drastically during intense workouts. Zinc creates and releases more T whilst also stopping you from using it so quickly.

Such an important ingredient gets optimal dosages from both products. LES Labs Male Health has included 15 mg, Prime Male 30 mg.

Nettle

An impressive ingredient we don’t mind seeing at all.

Nettle works as an aromatase inhibitor. This means it will stop the body from turning your precious T into estrogen.

By inhibiting the Sex Hormone Binding Globulin it frees up our testosterone. Since SHBG binds your T and ensures it can’t be used, anything that reverses this is welcome. In fact, a good T booster will include multiple ingredients that do this.

A good inclusion in a T booster aimed at the over 50’s as it is particularly good news for older men as they are affected by this more. There is a study that shows how Nettle has increased T levels in rodents. Sounds good, but for now we only listen to studies that include human trials.

The dosage of 160 mg in Prime Male and the 150 mg in LES Labs Male Health will both give you a good boost.

Ginseng

A traditional ingredient that is a famous libido enhancer. This seems to be a trait for traditional ingredients but Ginseng works on other levels too.

It helps the body to cope with the effects of stress. Since stress can really play around with T levels in a bad way, this is a good ingredient.

One particular study shows how rats with 5% Panax Ginseng in their diet for 60 days have shown significantly increased blood testosterone levels.

We will reiterate that we are not huge fans of anything less than human studies but it is promising. Combine all this with the fact that it has been shown to lower prolactin levels and you have a very good ingredient.

LES Labs Male Health has included 100 mg, Prime Male 120 mg.

Individual Ingredients

Prime Male

Vitamin D3

The sunshine vitamin is one of the best ingredients you can ask for in terms of T.

Low levels of D3 have been found to result in low testosterone, a good reason to keep it topped up. Our bodies actually create their own D3 when our skin is exposed to direct sunlight.

Since so many of us in the western world are deficient, it is clear we aren’t getting the rays we need!

Prime Male have included a massive, safe and optimal dosage of 5,000 IU. This will really get your T levels on the up.

Vitamin B6

Another ingredient that lessens the effects of the SHBG. We did mention the more the merrier so it is good to see vitamin B6 included in Prime Male.

It stimulates androgen receptors which allows you to create more T. B6 is also effective for supporting the immune system. Because we can’t actually store it, supplementing is a useful thing to do.

WebMD says that Vitamin B6 is required for the proper function of proteins in the body.

As all round good ingredient and the 5 mg in Prime Male, will do a lot of good.

Vitamin K2

This is a good ingredient to include alongside Vitamin D3.

It works because it prevents the possible calcification of the arteries when taking Vitamin D3. Examine.com advise that taking both together actually increases the effects of each.

This makes it a smart idea to include and the K2 version is actually the fastest absorbed by the body. The 45 mcg included is a good amount as well.

Magnesium

Another excellent ingredient, Prime Male is rolling them out.

Yet another that inhibits SHBG – Prime Male will really stop your body from blocking your T.

The Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis discusses the study that men with higher levels of magnesium in their blood tend to have more free T.

Magnesium will also help us from dealing with oxidative stress caused by aging and exercise. Another important trait for a T booster aimed at the over 50’s.

The 100 mg is a great dosage once again.

D-Aspartic Acid

Up there with the best ingredients in the whole Prime Male vs LES Labs Male Health review.

It works because it makes the protein in your body work towards gains. Also, it is another ingredient that stimulates the luteinizing hormone.

Most references to DAA discuss a study that showed how it increased T levels by 50% in under 2 weeks!

As well as all this, it increases the level of the Human Growth hormone in the body.

Instead of including great ingredients but low dosages, Prime Male is going for it. The 1,600 mg another great amount.

Luteolin

Luteolin has been shown to lower estrogen levels. An effective ingredient that is often derived from citrus fruits.

Consuming luteolin will get you making more androgen.

The dosage of 60 mg is a decent boost here.

Mucuna Pruriens

Any ingredient that reduces the level of estrogen or prolactin is a good idea for a T booster. Mucuna Pruriens is even better as it reduces both.

Examine.com discusses how it works against prolactins suppressive effect on libido and testosterone.

Prime Male are giving us a very good 300 mg.

BioPerine

A clever inclusion in that although it does not directly boost T levels, it boosts the effectiveness of the other nutrients.

Because the ingredients in Prime Male are so good, this can only be a good thing.

Boron

Useful when used alongside Magnesium (as it is in Prime Male) as it brings out the best in it.

The last of the ingredients that inhibit SHBG and supplementing it equals more testosterone.

The 5 mg dosage is all you really need.

LES Labs Male Health

L-Citrulline

This amino acid is found in various studies, the problem is the lack of studies backing it.

According to Examine.com L-Citrulline is used as a sports performance and cardiovascular health supplement. They also say there isn’t enough evidence to support the claim that L-citrulline supplementation improves power output during exercise.

It is no surprise that it is often found in pre-workouts. The same article above also advises that you would need around 6,000 – 8,000 mg before you get the sporting benefits.

As we only have 150 mg per capsule, we aren’t going to be getting that.

There is the potential that it can help with erectile dysfunction and reduce fatigue, but again, more studies are needed to confirm this.

Maca Root Extract

Sometimes referred to as Peruvian Ginseng, this ingredient is traditionally used as an aphrodisiac.

Examine.com says it does not increase testosterone but that men who supplement it have been known to experience an increase in sperm production.

It does have a use then, but we do need more T boosters from LES Labs. It might be useful for prostate health which would make it an effective ingredient here. The problem is this is based on animal trials.

There are studies that back it as an effective libido enhancer so it isn’t all reputation.

The problem is the dosage though. It is thought that we need around 1,500 mg of Maca. LES Labs are only giving us 150 mg.

Tongkat Ali

Sometimes referred to as Longjack, we are seeing it more and more often.

Is it any good though?

According to Examine.com it has a lot of backing to support its use as an aphrodisiac. They do go on to say there is a lack of evidence when it comes to T boosting but there is support for it being an effective anti-estrogen ingredient.

We like to have libido enhancers but there seems to be more than enough already, we need a bit more variety.

The 150 mg is just short of the 200 mg generally considered to be an ideal dosage.

Prime Male vs LES Labs Male Health Side Effects

The good thing about both products is that neither contains anything to be concerned about. The ingredients are all sensibly dosed and there are no proprietary blends.

As always, if you have allergies, check the label first.
