Prime Male vs Invictus Alpha Boost

What is it that makes a T booster for the over 50’s so special? Our Prime Male vs Invictus Alpha Boost review today will shed some light on how to find an effective product that suits your needs.

They both have a good following but it will all come down to the ingredients and dosages. Since our T levels drop year on year from around the age of 30 and do so for the rest of our lives, finding a good testosterone booster has never been so important.

But what do we expect from a good supplement here? It needs to do the following:

  • More Strength
  • Enhanced Libido
  • Elevated Mood
  • Increased Energy

Anything less than this and it won’t impress us. The ingredients should be all natural and safety is definitely a propriety.

Let’s get to know each product a little better.

Prime Male vs Invictus Alpha Boost: Who Makes These Testosterone Boosters?

PropuraPrime Male Testosterone Booster Review

The company behind Prime Male are UK based Propura.

With years of experience and FDA approved facilities they know a thing or two about making a good supplement.

They ship worldwide and use only 100% natural ingredients. They also have a generous money back guarantee. This is something that is essential when buying a supplement online. You want to make sure it works for you.

If you’re into endorsements, the Rocky legend Dolph Lundgren is an advocate. The guy is in great shape and he has plenty of great things to say about this product.

That’s another thing we like. There are plenty of genuine testimonials with people posting their before and after profiles aplenty.

Invictus Labsinvictus-alpha-boost

The US-based company behind Alpha Boost is Invictus Labs.

They also use FDA approved facilities which we like to see. Also, they use natural ingredients like Prime Male, a good start for both.

They are actually giving away their product. For us, this strikes of desperation and is a little strange for us. We’ll reserve complete judgment until we go through the ingredients.

Another strange element is that they don’t actually sell their own product on their site. Instead, you click through to Amazon.

This is probably why you can’t find a money back guarantee. Amazon will have their own guarantees and return policies you will have to read through depending on the seller.

This features strongly on Amazon but we aren’t into the reviews on there as they can be easily manipulated. Time to move on.

Prime Male vs Invictus Alpha Boost Ingredients

This is where we can get to put them through their paces.

No hiding now and this will go a long way to determining which is the better option for raising your T levels.

We can see that Prime Male does not use a proprietary blend. Unfortunately, Invictus Alpha Boost does use a proprietary blend. This means the ingredients are provided but the dosages of all but one ingredient are not revealed.

This is disappointing, to say the least. It is hard to say if an ingredient will work or not without the dosage. Still, they will need to use the better T boosters to even make it worth considering.

Mutual Ingredients

Nettle Extract

A good start by both.

Also, finally a use for the pesky leaves that used to make us itch like crazy as a kid! Nettle Extract has some pretty strong backing. An aromatase inhibitor meaning it prevents our bodies from turning testosterone into estrogen.

By stopping the Sex Hormone Binding Globulin from being so effective, testosterone can thrive. An ingredient that frees up a lot of the T which is bound and therefore useless normally.

It is the beta-sitosterol in Stinging Nettle that is thought to help to boost testosterone levels.

We want a dosage of anything around 100 – 300 mg for a true effect. Thankfully Prime Male give us 100mg. The same can’t be said for Invictus Alpha Boost as it is in the proprietary blend.

That’s one for Prime Male.

Boron

Another good ingredient and one we like to see.

This is a mineral which helps to promote the capabilities of other ingredients that are essential in T boosting. Just one of these is Magnesium which is only found in Prime Male of our two today.

A good ingredient though for boosting T levels overall.

Boron is also another ingredient that is great for stopping SHBG from being as effective. Just see Examine.com to see how much free testosterone Boron can provide. More free T for you then!

It is a good ingredient particularly for the over 50’s since there are some studies that suggest it is showing promise of promoting prostate health.

You need this mineral for your body to function properly and it has even been found to be good for building muscles. Another reason why it features in many T boosters.

You really need around 3-10 mg for an optimal dosage. There is 5 mg in Prime Male and once again we have no idea how much is in Invictus Alpha Boost.

Individual Ingredients

Prime Male

Vitamin D3

Arguably the best ingredient in the whole review.

Low levels of D3 are often linked to low testosterone so keeping it topped up is important. This is especially the case because so many people in the western world are deficient.

Our bodies actually create their own D3 when exposed to direct sunlight, clearly, we aren’t getting enough rays!

Prime Male have included an optimal 5,000 IU. This is a great amount of an excellent ingredient.

Vitamin K2

This is a smart idea here.

To prevent the calcification of arteries when using D3 – K2 is a great idea. According to Examine.com taking the two together actually increases the effects of each.

K2 is the version of the K Vitamin that can be better absorbed so it will get to work faster as well.

At 45 mcg, there is enough to get you what you need.

Vitamin B6

Another really good T booster here.

B6 is an ingredient that stimulates androgen receptors. This, in turn, encourages your testes to create and release more T.

It is even thought to be good for reducing estrogen levels by ensuring the Sex Hormone Binding Globulin isn’t as effective. A good T booster will have plenty of ingredients that do that.

More free T is the name of the game and B6 will give you just that. The 5 mg giving you all you need.

Magnesium

Like we said, the good T boosters will include loads of ingredients that reduce the effectiveness of SHBG, Magnesium is another.

The Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis has shown that men with more magnesium in their blood usually have higher levels of free T.

The studies are what we’re all for and this is another ingredient backed by some solid evidence.

There is 100 mg in Prime Male which is another optimal amount.

Zinc

Another vital ingredient when it comes to boosting testosterone.

Our bodies cannot create more T without it – such is its importance. It stimulates the luteinizing hormone. This, in turn, creates and release more T by communicating with the testes.

Zinc is also good for ensuring your body does not deplete your testosterone levels during intense workouts.

A great inclusion and at 30 mg, a big and vital dosage. This is especially the case since there are many that are deficient.

D-Aspartic Acid

Another brilliant T booster.

It increases the level of the Human Growth Hormone. This is important but it is also a fast acting ingredient. Studies have shown it to increase T levels by 50% in under 2 weeks! Impressive stuff.

Another that stimulates the luteinizing hormone so it will get your body producing and releasing more T. It is even thought to be good for encouraging your body to make better use of the protein in your body for those all-important gains.

For such a good all-rounder, we get the dosage we want and the 1,600 mg in Prime Male is another optimal dosage.

Asian Red Ginseng

Is there anything Prime Male has not covered yet? Maybe a little more stress relief?

That’s what we’re getting from Ginseng. As stress is a known killer of your T levels, Ginseng is another impressive ingredient. It will help your body to cope with the effects of stress and it even reduces prolactin levels.

High prolactin levels in men usually result in lower testosterone levels.

With 120 mg in Prime Male, we’re getting all we need once more.

Luteolin

You will find luteolin in Citrus fruits but is a good inclusion here.

It is a good aromatase inhibitor once again. Lowering estrogen is one way of increasing your T and Prime Male have made it their mission to sort this for you.

A good ingredient as it also encourages your body to make more androgens. This will result in you producing more testosterone. Another really good idea from Prime Male and with 60 mg, you have enough for a good boost.

Mucuna Pruriens

Want less prolactin and estrogen in your system? Mucuna Pruriens has your back.

Your levels of both of these increases the older you get so it is a great ingredient to include in a T booster for the over 50’s. To be honest, anyone could benefit from this.

It can even reduce cortisol levels which when we know stress is bad for T, is only a good thing.

There are studies that show it to be an effective libido enhancer as well. This is what we’re looking for.

BioPerine

The only ingredient that won’t directly boost your T, but it has its place here.

BioPerine is derived from black pepper and it is here to enhance the capabilities of the other ingredients.

A good ingredient that is a nice addition to this effective T booster.

Invictus Alpha Boost

Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate)

Here we have the only ingredient, not in their proprietary blend.

Found in dairy products of course but might just be decent for T.

There is a study that has shown Calcium to be beneficial for the T boosting benefits of exercise. It trialed T levels before and after supplementing calcium.

This study is generally the reference point when looking at the T boosting benefits of calcium and it would be good but maybe not here.

The problem is the 44.28 mg in Invictus Alpha Boost is nowhere near the amount needed for the above. In fact, half a glass of milk would provide much more calcium.

Like usual we say – it might be the greatest ingredient in the world, but if you aren’t getting enough of it, what’s the point?.

Horny Goat Weed

A strange sounding name but a genuine ingredient.

What does it do for your T?

Firstly, this traditional Chinese medicine is a well-known aphrodisiac (see Examine.com). Any libido enhancer is fine by us here.

This very article also states that it has been proven to increase T levels in research animals. The problem is that they haven’t looked into how effective it is in humans.

A bit more research and this could be one to look out for.

Without the dosage though, we don’t know if we are getting any of the above benefits. The proprietary blend making it hard to vouch for Invictus Alpha Boost once more.

Tongkat Ali

There is research that shows it might be good – but that is part of the problem, all the maybes!

We can’t give this ingredient our seal of approval until we see more concrete evidence for it being a good idea. We can go into what they are saying it might do though.

Possibly effective for inhibiting the Sex Hormone Binding Globulin. This is great for your testosterone levels of course but the problem here is that it is only a possibility.

The other possible trait it has is that it might be a good stress reducer. This is another trait we want. But, as you have seen with Prime Male, there are plenty of proven ingredients that will get you results. Oh, and last but not least – it might be an aphrodisiac as well as good for increasing sperm count.

The proprietary blend doesn’t let us know how effective the maybes may be!

Saw Palmetto Extract

Derived from the fruit of this plant we have some more maybes.

WebMD says that it might prevent testosterone from being converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). If this is the case then it’s good news as DHT is linked to causing baldness.

Another possible attribute is that it may also improve sexual function as well as overall testosterone production.

Still, maybes or not – the proprietary blend is still hanging over this ingredient.

Orchic Substance

Well, there’s no easy way to say this. Orchic Substance is made from Cattle testicles.

You didn’t read that wrong and WebMD suggests that whilst marketers imply that orchic extracts are a good source of testosterone, there is currently no actual evidence to support this claim.

Where are they getting this from then? A strange one really.

The fact is there is no recommended dosage either, since not a lot is known about how effective it is.

Wild Yam Extract

You only have to look to Examine.com to see that this ingredient requires more research before it can be considered as safe for supplementation.

A bad start then but why has it been included? So when has it been included then?

Some believe that it can have a similar effect to DHEA this is a banned substance in many sporting organizations. DHEA has been proven to be beneficial for T levels – Wild Yam Extract has not as of yet.

It could be good for bone health because the compound diosgenin is found in it.

Some studies have shown it to be an actual source of estrogen. Before you start to worry though, your body won’t convert it into estrogen.

Not a great ingredient though either way.

Sarsaparilla

Used for medicinal purposes but have they saved the best for last?

No, they haven’t. This is often found in soft drinks and foods as a flavoring agent.

WebMD has stated that there are some supplements claim that chemicals (sterols) in this ingredient can be converted to anabolic steroids like testosterone. But this is a false claim.

It joins the long list of ingredients we aren’t exactly impressed by.

WebMD also states that it appears to be safe for consumption. However, in large doses, it might cause stomach irritation. Because of the proprietary blend, we don’t know the dosage.

Prime Male vs Invictus Alpha Boost Side Effects

In the most part, they both seem completely safe. This is certainly the case with Prime Male due to the optimal dosages and 100% natural ingredients.

Invictus Alpha Boost concerns us with the proprietary blend. Without being able to see the dosages it makes it difficult to confirm the safety of a product. Like we said Sarsaparilla even has side effects if consumed in large doses.

As always, check the label if you have any allergies.

All in all, it does appear that both are fine to use.

Not the close contest it initially looked to be.

Prime Male is a top product so it is no surprise that it did well, Invictus Alpha Boost was a little disappointing really. For a product that sells well on Amazon, it didn’t live up to our expectations.

The long list of proven ingredients in Prime Male was backed up by excellent dosages, making it an effective testosterone booster. It might be aimed at the over 50’s but it is a product that anyone would benefit from.

The problem for Invictus might have been the proprietary blend but in truth, the ingredients, on the whole, weren’t great anyway. It did include Boron and Nettle which is good but the likes of Tongkat Ali and don’t get us started on Orchic Substance!

Due to the significance of boosting testosterone levels the older you get, you really need a proven supplement. That’s not what you are going to get from Invictus Alpha Boost. Prime Male, however, will get your T levels on the rise, your libido enhanced and estrogen suppressed to where you want it to be.

The inclusion of Vitamin D3, Zinc, and D-Aspartic Acid is brilliant. The three of them are among the best T boosting ingredients going. Combine this with great dosages and you know you’re in safe hands.

For a T booster that works, Prime Male is your best option today.
