Like many of the top pre workouts around it also helps you to focus so you get more accomplished in the gym – particularly good if you can’t help staring at your phone for half of your gym time.

Like all of our favorite and most effective pre workouts, Pre JYM pre workout does not use proprietary blends, meaning you actually get to see what goes into it and the dosages – no conning the customers here!

Pre JYM Review: Who Is It Best For?

Anyone who has aspirations of going beyond what they believe to be their maximum in the gym. If you have plateaued or feel as though you are ready to really apply yourself in a way you haven’t before.

There is no need to take such a product if you don’t have the time or commitment to take advantage of it. If going to the gym is little more than a hobby to stay in shape and keep fit then it isn’t for you.

Maybe you are looking to get serious and put on some serious muscle and achieve gains like never before. In this case, a pre workout is a must have.

Your current progress should not matter, if you are on the path towards where you’re going, this will help you to get there faster.

Pre JYM Review: Who Makes It?

The same big guy who makes Shred JYM – Jim Stoppani is the creator of JYM Supplement Science.

He knows his stuff and stresses the importance of including good dosages of effective ingredients.

You can’t fault his open and honest policy and ambition to provide quality supplements that actually work!

Pre JYM Ingredients

Best taken as one scoop mixed with whatever fluid tastes best but usually water and then consumed 20-30 minutes before your workout.

Since there is a large dose of caffeine we recommend not taking it in the evening.

Creatine

To give you that burst of power, creatine is good for water retention. Add this to the fact that you get great surges in power and faster recovery and you will see why this is useful both pre and post workout.

It has also been shown to increase your strength when doing particular exercises such as sprints, squats and bench press, as well as making you more agile.

Beta-Alanine

A controversial ingredient for some, although it has been proven to increase your muscle pumps by getting more useful acids into your body.

The slight concern is that in larger doses it has been known to cause paresthesia. This can cause numbing, itchiness or a tingling sensation in your hands and feet and other parts of your body.

Although this does pass and isn’t a huge concern, it is still an unwanted distraction when you are in the gym.

Betaine

One of those ingredients that caused a lot of excitement when it first hits the scene.

It is derived from beets but is also found in the body. Its main benefits are that it supports muscle growth and overall strength.

Betaine could help you increase the amount of reps as well as sprint for longer!

Taurine

I wonder if anyone really knew about Taurine before energy drinks? Well in the world of pre workouts it has it’s uses. Namely an increase in focus and alertness as well as helping the natural taurine found in your body as well.

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine

L-Cysteine is often found in lean meats and can therefore be part of a diet but N-Acetyl cannot and therefore requires supplementation.

It has been shown to have antioxidant effects. This means it can hunt for damaging free radicals and neutralize them before they cause any damage to muscle tissue.

Phosphoryl Choline

Typically found in dairy, eggs, meat as well as seafood. A vegan for example would struggle to get this into their diet.

Great for brain functioning so your concentration levels will increase from using this product. But it is also known that by getting more acetylcholine into your nervous system you will find yourself producing stronger muscle contractions.

Citrulline Malate

Bodybuilders in particular love this ingredient because it is often known as the fatigue fighter.

That’s right it will stave off those crashes and keep you going for longer in the gym. Basically improving your performance in the latter stages of your workout.

It has other benefits too including the ability to help you to feel less sore and recover faster.

Beta Vulgaris

Another form of beet that has many benefits for your pre workout such as greater endurance as well as more power.

Although it has been shown that a large dose is required before it can make much of an impact on the body. Luckily for you, the 500mg included in Pre Jym workout falls well within this bracket.

L-Leucine

An amino acid that is not found within the body so to get all the benefits you must make it part of your diet. Some of the evidence is conflicting on this. But if you believe the studies that supports its use then you will see that it helps to create lean muscle mass as well as compliment your weight loss through exercise.

L-Isoleucine

A Branch-Chain Amino Acid that is known as a performance enhancer for athletes it can also helps to ensure a faster recovery after a workout.

It works as a precursor for glutamine and acts as a fuel for muscle cells which leave other important amino acids in the body and ensures they are not sued up.

L-Valine

Another BCAA it helps to stop muscle breakdown from occurring and provides the muscles with more glucose which in turn gives them more energy.

L-Tryosine

This may have been added to increase your focus focus during your workout. It helps you to elevate your mood as well as your memory so has other health benefits.

Caffeine

Of course this gives you an energy boost but it is included in many supplements for good reason. Caffeine is useful for those power surges as well as aiding your metabolism it has great benefits all round.

This is part of the reason you need to be careful when consuming pre workouts, always check on the caffeine content, don’t take an additional scoop if it is high, which most of them are.

Pre JYM has quite a high caffeine amount of 300mg. So be careful if you also like to drink a coffee or two during your day and avoid taking this on an evening if you want to get a good nights sleep.

Huperzine A

Often used to treat Alzheimer’s Disease. It should be as no surprise that this is also often used in pre workouts.

Hiperzine A can enhance alertness and increase energy levels.

BioPerine

Extracted from black pepper.

Its inclusion in many supplements is credited to it’s ability to help the body absorb other ingredients. It has also been shown to support your body’s metabolism.

Pre Jym Review Pros and Cons

Pre Jym Review Pros

  • Stops fatigue from setting in
  • Gives you a real energy boost
  • Speeds up recovery
  • Strong muscle pumps as a result
  • Noticeable differences to focus
  • Helps you to build muscle mass

Pre Jym Review Cons

  • Some of the ingredients can have negative effects such as numbness, tingling and itchiness in high doses
  • High caffeine content

Pre JYM Pre Side Effects

The caffeine content is a bit of a concern – if you want to start lower and work your way up this is a good idea.

Everyone’s tolerance to caffeine is different. Some people seem to constantly be drinking coffee and at any time of day, where as others will feel the effects after one strong cup.

Side Effects of Caffeine:

  • Headaches
  • Heart palpitations
  • Diarrhea
  • Agitation
  • Jitters
  • Muscle tremors and/or twitching

Keep an eye out for these, sometimes you aren’t even aware that you are becoming agitated for example so it’s always good to think about what you have taken in and how it has affected you.

Pre JYM Review Conclusion

This is generally one of the better pre workouts on the market and is enjoyed by many people without any negative side effects.

There is a noticeable difference in your energy levels. Putting this into good use during your pumps should result in some serious differences in the weights you can lift.

It does contain a lot of ingredients, sometimes we like to see higher doses of carefully selected nutrients but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of filler in Pre Jym Workout.

The reservations we have are with Beta Alanine which as we previously mentioned can cause you to itch and give you a tingling sensation.

This can be the same for the caffeine content. If you find that this is affecting you then may consider reducing the amount in your scoop and work your way up. Like we say every body is different so what’s right for someone else might not be right for you. Just be sure to listen to your body.

There are many happy customers who use Pre Jym Workout and thanks to its open list of ingredients and by not using proprietary blends.

Due to the Beta Alanine and high caffeine content it isn’t quite our top ranked pre workout.
