Performix SST Review

Our Performix SST Review today looks to be a very interesting one. Having reviewed their nootropic supplement we are giving their fat burner a chance to shine.

The main thing we are after today is a product that can work but also do so in a safe manner. We have reviewed too many supplements recently that have missed the mark in one of these important areas.

In order for it to impress, it needs to do the following well:

  • Burn fat effectively
  • Be safe
  • Suppress appetite
  • Increase energy

Anything less than this and we will not be adding it onto our top recommended fat burners list.

Let’s start by getting to know it a little better.

Performix SST Review: Who Makes This Fat Burner?

PerformixPerformix SST

This is the company behind our product today and one thing they do seem proud of is their TERRA beads time release method.

This is what they say ensures the nutrients are delivered throughout the day but we aren’t so sure. On the surface, it seems to be a bit of a gimmick and if there is any solid independent evidence, we haven’t seen it as of yet.

The team associated with their products aren’t the biggest of names unless you are in the know in the muscle building industry.

They say that they ”pride ourselves on the use of novel, disruptive technologies that make our products more effective’’.

There is a range of products on their site with the likes of male performance enhancers and supplements for tone and shape.

You can subscribe to receive regular packs of their supplements and save 10% but we couldn’t find a money back guarantee.

Performix SST IngredientsStacker 2 Fat Burner Ingredients

This is where we can really see if this product will work.

The early signs aren’t the best. A lot of their ingredients are wrapped in a proprietary blend. This means we don’t get to take a proper look at the dosages.

Also, the suggested serving isn’t ideal. Their advice of taking two capsules in the morning on an empty stomach doesn’t spread out the fat burning benefits. The best way of doing this is when you can take a supplement 3-4 times a day.

Still, let’s see what they have for us.

Niacin

Essentially, this is Vitamin B3 and is becoming a common ingredient in fat burners.

This is because it can help with insulin levels and has a role to play in how we create energy. By breaking down carbs to use them for fuel it earns its place.

Examine.com says that you need around a gram of it for it to be effective. The 10 mg included here is short of that.

Vitamin B12

Another effective B-vitamin.

This time it is because B12 helps to prevent the body from storing as much fat. Less stored obviously equates to less to burn.

It isn’t something we create naturally so supplementing it is a good idea. Also, with prominent sources being meat, fish, and dairy making a supplement even more useful for vegetarians and vegans.

Caffeine Anhydrous

An ingredient you will certainly find in some of our top recommended fat burners.

The energy boost will obviously be very welcome. This is even more the case if you are using a fat burner alongside a diet that restricts calories.

By speeding up your metabolism it will help to burn fat. With so many other uses it would not be out of place in a nootropic supplement or pre-workout.

The version used is the Anhydrous type. This means it is a powdered form that is easily absorbed by the user. It also gets to work fast.

This is where you really need the dosage information. Without it we have no idea how much room this is taking up in the proprietary blend.

This isn’t great and actually puts you at risk of potential side effects. With Caffeine, these include anxiety, insomnia, jitters, high blood pressure, irritability, upset stomach and more.

Ashwagandha

Not the most common fat burner, in fact, it is more likely to be found in nootropic supplements.

It helps us to deal with the effects of anxiety and leaves the user feeling relaxed.

It is likely to be included to work against the stimulants in this product. Without reducing their effectiveness, it is thought that this sort of ingredient can help the user to feel in control.

Ashwagandha is thought to be able to increase physical output as well so there are a couple of benefits from using it. Still, if the stimulant level wasn’t so high already it might not be so necessary.

You really need the dosage to see if there is enough of it for it to work. The proprietary blend prevents this once more.

Bitter Orange

Another stimulant here.

We wouldn’t usually mind so much if they were dosed well, and of course, safe!

Unfortunately, this isn’t the case with this ingredient. Sometimes known as Synephrine, this ingredient is another controversial one.

If there were two ingredients you would wish to avoid in a fat burner, it would be this and Yohimbine. It is a banned substance in many sporting organizations and can cause some pretty serious side effects.

When taken alongside Caffeine (as this product does), the likelihood of side effects is increased. WebMD say that it can be unsafe when taken as a weight loss supplement.

They even say that the potential side effects include dizziness, burning, stinging, blurred vision, drowsiness and more.

It is certainly an ingredient to stay away from and if you are the subject of testing from your sporting organization check before you take any product that contains this ingredient.

This product also contains Synephrine HCI making it twice as bad as we had thought. The HCI element just means hydrochloride which is a way of making it water-soluble and easily absorbed.

We don’t have the dosage of either of these versions making this product even worse than we had thought.

Huperzine A

An ingredient more suited to a nootropic.

It keeps the user focused and increases alertness.

It is here to aid your cognition. However, it seems as though this product is one part stimulant, another part any ingredient that will stop your body from freaking out.

The added focus will be useful in the gym and it does have links to increasing muscle strength but this is more of a nice boost rather than what we want.

Huperzine helps to break down neurotransmitters and protects the brain which will be useful when considering the other ingredients here.

There are some that believe it can coordinate fat loss but this is more of a potential trait than a proven one.

Yohimbine HCI

More controversy now.

This is certainly an ingredient to look out for, in a negative way.

There are sources that will say that Yohimbine can work as an appetite suppressant and speed up the way we burn fat. This is all very good but it needs to do this safely.

WebMD advises that when taken orally, it is possibly unsafe. They also say that Yohimbine has links to reports of severe side effects that include heart attacks and seizures.

It is illegal to sell the man-made yohimbine hydrochloride version in the USA as a dietary supplement. This is enough to put us off on its own.

We need to know the dosage but because it is in the blend we don’t know how much we are consuming.

Other potential side effects include irritability, sleep issues, and irregular heartbeat.

Mucuna Pruriens

At least this is an ingredient you often see in supplements, just not fat burners!

When reviewing this ingredient it is usually because it is in a testosterone booster. This is because it reduces estrogen levels which helps with boosting T levels.

It can even help with your libido but for fat loss, there are no reliable benefits and only tenuous links. This is where it would be good to know the dosage to see how much room it is wasting.

Black Pepper Extract

An interesting ingredient.

It doesn’t burn fat directly but is included in many fat burners. This is because it enhances the capabilities of the other ingredients it is used with. This usually means more thermogenic ingredients, more metabolism boosters, and more appetite suppressants.

Because we aren’t getting many safe and effective ingredients, it isn’t going to be put to the best use.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid

A better ingredient than many in this product.

Made from dairy products, it is basically a group of chemicals that have links to fighting diseases. CLA has also been used to treat obesity so it just might be a useful ingredient.

WebMD say that it is a safe ingredient and advise that it can aid fat loss. This does come under their ‘possibly effective for’ area meaning that more research is needed to prove its uses further.

It works as a metabolism booster however, Examine.com says that CLA too weakly affects PPAR receptors to really induce fat loss in an appreciable amount.

Medium Chain Triglycerides

A bit of a favorite of theirs as it is found in their nootropic supplement as well.

It is often found in Coconut Oil and there are only very loose studies that say it might be able to boost cognition.

There is more evidence to suggest this isn’t correct anyway and more studies proving its worth are needed.

Performix SST Side Effects

We would like to be able to say there is nothing to worry about in this section.

However, there is more cause for concern than your usual fat burner supplement.

This is mainly down to the stimulants and two in particular.

Yohimbine and Synephrine (or Bitter Orange) are two that we keep an eye out for because of the potential side effects associated with them.

Throw Caffeine into the mix because we don’t have the dosages and it does not look great for Performix SST.

The potential side effects include dizziness, burning, stinging, blurred vision, drowsiness and more for Bitter Orange.

Also, heart attacks, seizures, irritability, sleep issues and irregular heartbeat (Yohimbine).

Finally, anxiety, insomnia, jitters, high blood pressure, irritability, upset stomach (too much Caffeine).

Each of these ingredients can give other side effects but these are some of the more common ones.

Performix SST Review Conclusion

Unfortunately, this product got it all wrong in our eyes.

The dangerous ingredients do have decent links to fat burning, but why risk your health? The fact that all the stimulants are in the proprietary blend makes this even worse.

There is never any reasons for taking risks when it comes to your wellbeing. Especially when there are proven ingredients that are effective, and safe.

Even the serving suggestion isn’t great, you want to be burning fat around the clock. The likelihood is that you will feel a difference when taking this product. This doesn’t mean that it is burning fat all the time, it just means your body is reacting.

Although there aren’t a lot of great options on the market, there are still some that stand out.

Stick to these to ensure your body has the best chance of getting into shape, without dodgy ingredients.
