We’ve been let down by some of the popular pre-workouts of late so we are really hoping that this product can reverse that trend.
In order for it to impress, it is going to need to give us the following:

As we mentioned, this is a giant of a brand.
They have a steady history of making supplements that are found the world over. Their products are used by some pro athletes and were founded in Denver, Colorado.
A couple of their ambassadors include Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers and Tiger Woods. Even Anderson Silva from the UFC has put his name to their products.
The big claim is that this is a pre-workout with superior focus as well as extreme energy. We’re not always a fan of products that try to do too much as it often means you are getting half of what you really need.
Aimed at ‘more dedicated athletes’ we will see if it is a product worth buying when we get to the ingredients.
We couldn’t find a money back guarantee but maybe you won’t need one. Let’s see…

This is where we can really get to know this product and see if it is worth your time.
The early signs are positive. They stay clear of proprietary blends. This means we get to see all their dosages and can tell just how effective it can be.
They start with a few ingredients designed to give you intense pumps and make the nutrients easier to absorb.
A common ingredient and a good one to start with.
It certainly improves blood flow to the muscles which is one of the traits we are looking for from a pre-workout. It increases nitric oxide levels and is derived from watermelons. This amino acid is a clever ingredient.
In the body, L-Citrulline converts into Arginine. Why is this good? Because it aids creatine synthesis. Since this product doesn’t contain Creatine, this is a useful benefit.
The 5 g is a good dosage. It is higher than most on the market but shows how they know a good ingredient when they see it.
Vaso6 Green Tea Extract
Green Tea extract is a more common ingredient in fat burners.
A thermogenic, it heats the body up on the inside, causing it to burn fat to cool itself again. This is great but it’s not really what we are after.
Perhaps some of the other benefits might be of use. Green Tea Leaf also helps to keep the user calm. Since this product contains stimulants, this is a good thing.
They claim that this ingredient is great for your muscle pumps, producing nitric oxide to do so. By aiding vasodilation it could be a good ingredient here. The problem is, the only backing you really find for it is put forward by those selling or promoting it.
You will find it difficult to even get hold of these studies.
It is understudied in terms of proving its benefits although knowing that it is made up of Grape and Green Tea Extract it is likely to be well tolerated. At 300 mg, it is a common dosage for Green Tea Extract.
An ingredient that is made up of two ingredients called Panax Notoginseng and Astragalus Membranaceus.
It is believed to be good for circulation. Sometimes found in fat burners although evidence supporting its uses is limited. The same goes for its use here but some sources believe it can help the body to absorb Citrulline.
Still, it’s not exactly a mainstay in our top recommended pre-workout supplements.
The help with absorbing L-Citrulline is probably why it has been included. The 50 mg appears to be a good dosage.
Now for the energy and endurance complex.
After an Ok start, this is the first ingredient we don’t really like to see.
To start with, WebMD says that is a nonessential amino acid that is produced by the body. The potential side effects are what make it something we keep an eye out for though.
They might not be the most significant side effects but it can cause paresthesia, this will put a lot of people off. Paresthesia is a tingling sensation of the skin. This passes before too long, but it isn’t something you want to be trying to deal with when you’re lifting big weights.
On top of this, there don’t appear to be a lot of proven benefits.
Beta-Alanine is predominantly linked to fighting fatigue but there aren’t a lot of studies to back it up. It’s also linked to Carnosine production. If this was true then it can help your muscles to stay at peak levels for longer periods.
As we said, these benefits are doubted by some reliable sources.
At 2 g it is a high enough dosage to give some people paresthesia. Anything over 800 mg is often considered to be able to do this. It will pass within a couple of hours but just keep an eye out for it.
You might have a misconception over this ingredient that it will work as a stimulant.
This is because it is often found in energy drinks. The reason behind this is that Taurine works to help the body cope with the stimulant-like effects of Caffeine and other stimulants.
It is actually an antioxidant that can increase blood flow. This will aid your gym performance.
Better known for being able to give the user a calmer, more in control manner even when stimulants are in your system. It could even help to work against the side effects of Beta-Alanine.
You will find it in nootropic supplements because of its calming effects as well but it is another that doesn’t have the benefit of a lot of human trials.
Animal studies have shown promise but we always like to see relatable studies before we can really say it will work.
The dosage of 1 g is a common one though.
An ingredient found in many of our top recommended pre-workouts.
It is one of the most reliable ingredients in terms of energy production.
It will also help you to focus and stay alert. This is a benefit that many people could do with, it will help you to get more out of your time at the gym.
The anhydrous version included is a powdered form that is often seen in energy drinks. This is easily absorbed and fast acting.
Found in pre-workouts, nootropics and fat burners it is a very effective ingredient.
The dosage of 300 mg might be on the high side though. By getting so much all at once it might need building up to for some.
Too much caffeine can cause jitters, headaches, anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia and more.
Now we are onto the focus enhancing side of this product.
They have picked a good ingredient to start. Tyrosine helps to keep the user calm and is known to reduce stress levels. It has been proven to enhance focus which is exactly what MusclePharm said this would give you.
WebMD advise that your body uses Tyrosine to make chemical messengers that are involved in conditions involving the brain such as mental alertness.
With a decent amount of backing, the 500 mg is a good amount of a useful ingredient.
An ingredient we certainly see in nootropics which is a good thing even for this type of product.
A cognitive enhancer, it is thought to be able to stave off cognitive decline. People often consume it because it helps them to tackle academic activities.
One of the main benefits is that it keeps the brain alert and helps you to make a split decision.
Examine.com also say that it is used to enhance the power output of athletes. They do say ergogenic properties of Alpha GPC look promising but require further studies.
Benefits for reversing cognitive decline are thought to only take place at dosages of over 1,200 mg. Since we are only getting 100 mg, it seems to just be a top up.
Another good ingredient for battling stimulants.
It helps you to stay in control while making sure the benefits of Caffeine are still felt.
Derived from Green Tea leaves it also make Caffeine’s good traits last longer. The 100 mg is on the low side though so it might not have as much of an effect as you might like.
NeuroFactor Whole Coffee Fruit
Thought to help stave off cognitive decline it is the sort of ingredient that is linked to preventing Alzheimer’s.
Thought to also promote BDNF which is a protein found in the brain and keeps neurons in good health.
A good ingredient and there are plenty of cognitive boosters here. Maybe there are too many which makes this a little unbalanced.
The 100 mg once again is a decent top up.

On the most part, this product should be fine to consume.
There are two ingredients that concern us a little. Beta-Alanine to start with has been found to cause paresthesia. We mentioned that this isn’t the most serious side effects, it’s just a bit annoying and unnecessary.
Then there is Caffeine. We like it, always look out for it in pre-workouts, but here it is dosed at 300 mg.
This isn’t over the average daily tolerance for most people but all in one go, it could be a bit intense.
Working your way up by starting with smaller scoops might be a sensible idea.

Whilst this has some impressive ingredients, it doesn’t stack up next to the best we have seen.
There is enough to like about it to suggest it can work for many people, just not as well as some of the others we recommend.
The main problem for us is the Caffeine content and Beta-Alanine. These two could be dosed a bit more sensibly in our eyes. They used up a lot of space trying to compensate for the fact that the stimulant level is quite high here.
The added focus is useful but a lot of pre-workouts include ingredients for this, just not as many. There were a few things missing which is why we ton hold it in as high regard.
With a couple of unproven ingredients, it needed to offer us a bit more terms of ingredients that will actually get you pumped and get those big gains coming.
Still, a valiant effort but nothing to write home about really.
