By this we mean, its mix of bright bold colors and big claims makes it jump out at you. But is this really a good thing? With a load of ingredients, this also claims to boost testosterone levels.

We have had mixed results when reviewing supplements that try and cover too many bases. Is this one going to be a success?

In order for it to impress us, it is going to need to give us the following:

Here we have the team behind the product.

They don’t reveal a lot of information, their about us and contact us page are just two addresses! One of the many claims they make about it is that it will also increase your testosterone levels.

We said they try to cover a lot of bases. Their tagline is train like a hero and they have gone down the superhero route for their branding and marketing.

It is made in the USA where they have to adhere to the local laws. However, they have not been very open and if you try and find anything useful about them, you will be disappointed.

They say payment is secure and orders are sent via UPS and FedEx but as we said, it is hard to get anything out of them. Even a couple of the pages on their site are out of date and don’t lead to anything.

The claim for this product is that it is the fastest hitting combinational anabolic pre-workout on the market! Hero Supplements say you don’t need to wait for long for it to kick in.

Amazon appears to be the best place to find out more. They advise it is risk-free for 30 days and that it is made in FDA and GMP certified facilities.

This is a popular way of selling products but as we have seen in the past, it is not always an assurance of a good product.

They were being secretive when it came to their company but what else can we get out of them? The ingredients are our chance to really know how reliable they are.

The early signs aren’t great though. More secrecy here as they include two

proprietary blends that cover a lot of ingredients.

This means we don’t get to see all the dosages.

Vitamin C

A decent start here although it isn’t the most necessary.

We said this was a combination of two different supplements so if you are looking for more T alongside a pre-workout, it might have a place here. Of course, you can get your fill of it through fruits and vegetables.

WebMD says that it is often used to improve physical endurance as well as countering the side effects of cortisone. If this is true then it is good for building muscle as well as your T levels.

There is room for a little more than the 60 mg.

Niacin

Referred to as simply Vitamin B3 by many, it is an essential B-vitamin.

A side effect of supplementing it is more insulin resistance and it only gives benefits to cardiovascular health if precautions are taken.

Found in chicken and grains it has links to preventing erectile dysfunction. It is important for transferring fats and carbs into energy so it will give you more for the gym as well as burn fat. However, it isn’t directly going to boost your T and its use for energy isn’t going to be fast acting as it claims.

The 10 mg isn’t a lot anyway.

Calcium

Deficiencies are rare and sources are plentiful.

It can help with memory function including the way we store and retrieve information. One study suggests that it can be useful. When tested on a group that supplemented it compared to a group that did not whilst taking part in resistance training, the free testosterone levels of those that did supplement calcium rose.

Still, it might not be the most essential ingredient.

Zinc

One of the best T boosting ingredients which is why it has been included, but it doesn’t help you pre-workout!

Our bodies cannot create more T without it so it is important. It stimulates the luteinizing hormone. This communicates with the testes to create and release more testosterone. Zinc also ensures our bodies do not deplete T levels during strenuous workouts.

The 5 mg is a small dosage though.

So far, we only have very loose benefits for a pre-workout supplement.

Creatine Monohydrate

A very popular pre-workout ingredient and one we like to see.

Finally, this supplement is going somewhere.

Examine.com advises that it is often used by athletes to increase power output and lean mass.

You do not need to cycle it and it is a hugely popular ingredient that is well researched and very safe to consume.

There are a ton of benefits for your muscles. Not only does Creatine provide them with more strength but it also increases their energy even after training.

Creatine gives the muscles what they need to recover faster which also means greater gains. One of the most appealing attributes is that Growth Factor 1 in your muscle tissue will be increased. This helps with their development and growth.

There is a study that shows how Creatine can benefit the body at any time. This talks about how supplementing it during arm flexor strength training led to greater increases in arm flexor muscle strength, upper arm muscle area, and fat-free mass than strength training alone.

The dosage is needed though and since this is included in a blend with many ingredients and only totals 3,732.5 mg, it is unlikely to be dosed well enough.

L-Citrulline

An excellent ingredient and one found in many of our top recommended pre-workouts for a reason.

It improves blood flow to the muscles for a start. This is achieved by increasing nitric oxide levels. It is derived from watermelons most commonly and is an amino acid.

Linked to giving your workout extra power and ensuring there is plenty of oxygen in the muscles.

It converts in the body into Arginine which helps with creatine synthesis. Because of this, you will be getting even more creatine in your system.

The problem is most products give you anything between 2 – 6,000 mg of it and the blend totals under 4,000 mg with plenty of ingredients. It is unlikely to be dosed as well as a premium quality product.

Beta Alanine

One of this products promises is no tingling.

Why would they say this you ask? Well, because they have included this ingredient, which is known to cause paresthesia, a tingling of the skin. It passes in less than a couple of hours but can be annoying for some.

How can they promise no tingling when they include such an ingredient, we’re not sure!

WebMD describes it as a nonessential amino acid that is produced in the body.

It is isn’t without some possible benefits though. Still, it isn’t the most convincing ingredient although it is believed to be able to battle fatigue and increase the body’s production of Carnosine. The would mean that your muscles can stay at peak levels for longer periods.

WebMD says that in high doses it can cause flushing and tingling.

Once again, we would want to know how much there is included so we can see how likely the potential side effects are.

L-Tyrosine

We see the sense behind including this, especially because there are stimulants and ingredients that can cause potential side effects.

L-Tyrosine can promote focus and reduce stress which helps you to stay relaxed. A reduction in stress means you are able to stay in control and it can also be good for testosterone.

The proprietary blend is proving to be a problem again in terms of dosages though.

Beet Root

A clever inclusion for blood flow.

Beet is good as it increases the level of plasma nitrate in the body. Essentially, this equates to more stamina and means you can stay at your peak for longer.

More blood flow also means your muscle pumps get the benefit. This will be why you see such improved results as it means once again that you can work harder and longer.

The dosage is not given though so we cannot see how useful it really is.

Caffeine Anhydrous

A great ingredient for almost any supplement.

This is because of the added energy you will get. Of course, pre-workouts are often known for including stimulants but Caffeine is one of the more reliable.

When dosed correctly it should be well tolerated. The anhydrous side refers to the fact that this is a powdered form and is easily absorbed by the body.

It will also speed up metabolism. This means Caffeine can help to get you shredded.

It will also keep you focused and alert which makes it a very good ingredient for numerous reasons.

As with any stimulant, you need to know how much you are getting. Consume too much and it can put you at risk of side effects that include jitters, insomnia, headaches and more.

L-Theanine

A very clever inclusion. It is often found alongside Caffeine in supplements.

This is because it can help the user to stay in control. The energy increase you get from Caffeine will be delivered in a manner that means you can still be calm throughout.

Basically, L-theanine makes side effects less likely to occur.

It is found in Green Tea leaves and is well tolerated. The calming benefits mean it is often found in nootropics.

It even ensures Caffeine’s positive effects last longer. How effective will it be? We’re not sure because we don’t have a dosage.

Synephrine HCL

An ingredient we often look out for.

Unfortunately, this isn’t in a good way though.

Another stimulant which means they are going for the energy boost here and trying to get you pumped for the gym. The problem is, Synephrine is a banned substance in many sporting organizations and can cause potential side effects.

Of course, if you get tested by a sporting organization affects you, then this product might not be for you!

The side effects are more likely to occur when taken alongside Caffeine, which this is here. WebMD confirms that it can be unsafe when taken as a supplement. Potential side effects include dizziness, burning, stinging, blurred vision, drowsiness and more.

Often known as Bitter Orange, keep an eye out for it.

The issue once again is the proprietary blend. Since we have no idea how much has been included, it adds to the potential dangers.

Agmatine Sulfate

An ingredient that has been growing in popularity when it comes to pre-workout supplements, but is this deserved?

The benefits would be good as they include the fact that it is thought to increase blood flow and aid muscle recovery. It is also thought to be good for reducing anxiety, which would be useful given the stimulant content in this product.

The problem is it doesn’t have a lot of evidence behind it.

Until there are proven human trials supporting its benefits, we’re not convinced. Also, we need the dosage.

Intra Workout Anabolic Growth Matrix

Tribulus Terrestris

Not the best of starts to their growth matrix.

It was once believed to be the next big thing in the T boosting industry but since the early days, the studies have not been so kind to it.

It might be good for boosting libido so all is not lost. Examine.com tells us that it has been shown to be an effective libido enhancer. Still, they discuss its limited use for power output and testosterone enhancement (which it has repeatedly failed to do).

Also, the dosage isn’t given once again as this is the first ingredient in their second blend. Therefore, we don’t even know if it will boost libido.

D-Aspartic Acid

A proven T booster which is usually good to see.

DAA works by making the protein in your body go towards gains. As well as this, it stimulates the luteinizing hormone.

It increases the Human Growth Hormone levels in the body. Fast acting, it has been shown to increase T levels by 50% in under 2 weeks.

The problem is there is only 400 mg in total of all ingredients in this blend. When you consider you need over triple this, DAA is not going to be dosed well enough.

Longjack

Sometimes known as Tongkat Ali it is an aphrodisiac.

Exmaine.com confirms this but also says there is a lack of evidence in terms of testosterone boosting, but it might be an effective anti-estrogen ingredient.

It is linked to battling stress but this, much like its other benefits needs a bit more research to fully back it.

Most research shows you need around 200 mg for it to do anything, that is half the blend making it unlikely that we are getting enough.

Fenugreek

An effective ingredient that earns its place in a T booster.

It is a traditional ingredient that acts as an aromatase inhibitor. This means it can create more room for T to thrive.

Also a libido enhancer it has even been linked to stabilizing blood sugar levels.

Of course, it doesn’t help for pre-workout purposes but it is a useful ingredient for your T.

The problem once more is the dosage. A lot of supplements will give you more than this blends total. It is likely to be underdosed once again.

Bulbine Natalensis

The final ingredient here and another that could be risky.

It is thought to be able to boost T and raise sex drive. There have also been studies though that has shown it to negatively affect the liver and kidneys in rodents.

We won’t ask you to act as a lab rat to find out if this is the case for humans.

More research and a dosage are required.

We can’t say that this is a safe product.

Unfortunately, it includes too many ingredients that worry us and the dosages aren’t given for most of the ingredients.

Even without the Caffeine dosage, you could be at risk of jitters, headaches, insomnia and more.

Then there is synephrine which really concerns us. The potential side effects form this include burning, dizziness, blurred vision, drowsiness and more.

Even Beta-Alanine can cause paresthesia, a tingling of the skin.

With too many risks, it is difficult to say that this isn’t going to have a negative impact, despite the companies claims.

Ka Pow Pre Workout Review Conclusion

To put it straight, we would not recommend the use of this product.

Sure, it contains a few of the familiar names on the pre-workout label but it doesn’t do enough to win us over.

The dosages aren’t given for a start. Since the blends total doses aren’t the highest, and there are a lot of ingredients, it is unlikely that they have given us enough of a lot of the ingredients.

Also, we can’t be sure if the ingredients linked to side effects are dose too high.

With a long list of problems, this isn’t a product that you should be looking at for a boost at the gym.

Luckily there are proven products that offer you a safe and effective supplement. This just isn’t one of them.
