Cellucor SuperHD Thermogenic Fat Burner Review

High definition is quite a good way to describe a fat burners goals. Can our Cellucor SuperHD Thermogenic Fat Burner Review reveal a product that makes you worth watching as you walk past?

Since this product sells well on Amazon, we have our apprehensions. The reviews can be manipulated on there but here you have a chance to read a proper run through. All the ingredients will be reviewed and the end result will show if this is worth buying or not.

Fancy packaging and clever marketing mean nothing here. As far as we are concerned, this is stripped back and we are putting it through its paces.

For a good fat burner to really impress, it needs to do the following:

  • Burn fat effectively
  • Be safe
  • Suppress appetite
  • Increase energy

If they can achieve this then this product has a chance of making it onto our top recommended fat burners list.

Time to get to know the people behind it a little better.

Cellucor SuperHD Thermogenic Fat Burner Review: Who Makes This Product?

CellucorCellucor SuperHD Thermogenic Fat Burner

Here we have the team behind this fat burner.

Their motto is Better Is Never Enough, catchy but is this product better…or enough?

They do offer a 30-day money back guarantee which is always good to see. It means you really can make a risk free purchase.

Their sponsored athletes include the likes of Crossfit athletes and personal trainers so although there are no huge names, it is good to see them invest in people they feel are worth it.

Cellucor products include pre workouts and creatine related post workout supplements. They even sell their own apparel.

Their site says they have made it their mission to support personal journeys or improvement for 15 years so they clearly have some experience in the industry.

Let’s see if they can apply all this to an effective product.

This is where we can really get to know this product.

The early signs aren’t great in a way. The suggested serving says to take twice a day. This means the fat burning effects are likely to wear off at certain points. A third capsule can be taken if your tolerance has built up but this is to be taken with the morning capsule.

There are also a couple of proprietary blends to worry about. This means we don’t get to see the dosages of every ingredient. Instead, an overall dosage of a handful of ingredients together is given.

Still, we can find out a lot from the ingredients alone.

Niacin

Otherwise known as Vitamin B3, here we have an ingredient that at times it credited with being useful for insulin.

More common in multivitamins because of the way it can help the body to make energy. It achieves this by breaking carbs down to use them for fuel.

A pretty good ingredient it is one that works in a similar way to other B-vitamins. When you have more than you need, you pass what you don’t need through your urine.

Examine.com says that you need one gram for it to be effective. This makes the 20 mg serving per day here very much on the low side.

An ingredient just included to make the product look better? Possibly.

Vitamin B6

A good inclusion here and one you will find in some of our top recommended fat burners.

Similar to other B-vitamins in that it enhances energy levels and targets fat. It converts it into glucose so it can be used for energy which burns it off.

It has even been linked to boosting metabolism.

The 6 mg included is a decent amount.

Vitamin B12

A good ingredient in that it stops us from storing as much fat.

It is not something our bodies can create naturally which makes it a useful ingredient to get in a supplement.

Vegans and vegetarians will benefit the most here as prominent sources are meat, dairy, and fish.

B12 will even help to fight fatigue as it promotes red cell production.

Green Tea Extract

A real mainstay in a lot of fat burners.

This is because it really works. Green Tea Extract is a proven thermogenic. This means it heats the body up on the inside, causing it to burn fat to cool itself down again.

It is the catechins that are really beneficial. They help to fight disease and are antioxidants.

Examine.com says that they are anti-obesity as well as anti-diabetic.

Green Tea will also increase endurance levels which will be great for the gym.

WebMD advise that Green Tea is a milder stimulant than the likes of Caffeine Anhydrous and it contains 2-4% Caffeine. Although it is milder when compared to Caffeine, it will provide a boost to your thinking and alertness.

The problem is, it is part of a proprietary blend that contains two other ingredients and totals 500 mg per 2 capsules. This means it will not reach the heights of 500 mg that a lot of other products include.

SlimPro Protein Hydrolysates of Blue Whiting

The idea here is to improve appetite suppression.

It is a fish protein and one study showed it to be effective in improving body weight composition.

This is a patented formula that has been enhanced by BCAAs. Although the studies are in their early stages, if this is to work it would make it a useful ingredient here.

Still, you would have thought they would give us the dosage!

Dandelion Root Extract

A bit of a confusing ingredient this.

If you want to be urinating all the time then this diuretic might be of use.

We like the thought of less water retention but this isn’t a fix for burning fat. The proprietary blend also stops us from knowing if it can be effective or not anyway.

N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine

Here we have an amino acid that you are more likely to see in a nootropic.

It does have its benefits though. It can help to work against the effects of stress. This will help to work against the Caffeine Anhydrous and ensure the benefits are delivered in a calmer way.

There is also the added focus that the user will get from supplementing N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine.

However, Examine.com say that you should act with caution if you have a hyperactive thyroid. It can raise thyroid production as it is a precursor for its synthesis.

The dosage would be nice to see if it can really be effective.

Rhodiola Root Extract

Again, an ingredient better suited to a nootropic.

In terms of fat burning, it doesn’t offer a lot.

It is an ingredient that can help you to focus which is a welcomed trait, especially for your workout.

According to Examine.com, it can reduce fatigue and exhaustion in prolonged stressful situations. So, a nice trait but not one we are looking for necessarily.

Cayenne Fruit Extract

A really effective ingredient for a fat burner.

It works on two levels. Firstly, it is another thermogenic. This means it will have you burning fat even as you rest.

Also, WebMD tells us it is an effective appetite suppressant by saying that it has been found to curve appetite, especially in those who do not already eat spicy foods.

A great selection then but how much are we getting? It is part of a blend that has numerous ingredients so it is hard to say if we are getting the 100 mg needed.

Yohimbine

There is enough evidence to suggest that this can be a beneficial fat burning ingredient. The problem is, there are some risks attached.

Sure, it might work as an appetite suppressor and can help to break down fats. There are even some studies that show it can increase thermogenesis.

All this good, so why do so many avoid it?

The associated side effects include elevated blood pressure and heart rate. WebMD say taking orally is possibly unsafe and it has been linked to reports of severe side effects that include heart attacks and seizures.

The proprietary blend makes the inclusion of this ingredient even worse.

Evodia

An ingredient that is understudied thus far.

Examine.com describes this berry as one that might burn fat but has not really been looked into.

Not the most inspiring fat burner ingredient then especially since there are so many proven options out there.

Toothed Clubmoss

Another unproven ingredient in terms of fat loss.

You know an ingredient is unproven where there is no advice on a recommended dosage. Because its long-term safety has also not been investigated properly, it is hard to get behind this ingredient.

It is thought to be useful for your focus and cognition but other ingredients are already giving us these traits.

Their site advises that it is a natural source of Huperzine A and as it is part of their sensory impact proprietary blend we can see why they have opted for it. We just want more proven fat burners here.

Rauwolfia Root Bark Extract

An ingredient we aren’t a fan of.

It works in a similar way to Yohimbine which is never a good thing.

Examine.com says that there isn’t a lot known about this ingredients potency. This is worrying since as we already discussed, Yohimbine is known to have some potential side effects.

There are links that say it has fat burning potential but we don’t recommend that any of our readers start to act as lab rats anytime soon.

More research is clearly needed and the fact that it is part of a proprietary blend worries us.

Caffeine Anhydrous

A good inclusion for a fat burner and one you will find in many of our top recommended fat burners.

The energy boost is a good place to start. This will be fast acting because the anhydrous side refers to the fact that this is a powdered form and is easily absorbed.

Caffeine helps to get your metabolism moving and will increase focus in the user.

It is a mainstay in all types of supplements including pre-workouts, fat burners, and nootropics.

The 320 mg from the 2 capsule serving is a good amount. If you go for the third capsule, then it could push you towards the higher end you might wish to avoid.

Cellucor SuperHD Thermogenic Fat Burner Side Effects

There are a few issues with this product.

Firstly, the proprietary blends mean we don’t get to see how much of each ingredient there is. The inclusion of Yohimbine makes this particularly worrying.

Side effects from this ingredient include elevated heart rate and blood pressure, heart attacks and seizures.

Also, N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine needs to be dosed well to avoid any thyroid related issue for anyone with a hyperactive thyroid.

All this makes it a hard product to get behind.

Cellucor SuperHD Thermogenic Fat Burner Review Conclusion

This is certainly not a product we would recommend.

For a start, it misses some of the key fat burning ingredients out. Although it contains a few of the better ones such as Cayenne Pepper and Green Tea Extract it doesn’t keep up the momentum.

Basically, there is a lot of filler here. Some of the ingredients are unproven and some have potential side effects included.

Yohimbine is one of those ingredients we always look out for, and not in a good way.

The problem is, people seem to be buying this on Amazon. We worry that many of them just look at a few reviews on there and don’t do proper research. One quick search and they could find out that this product should be avoided.

Also, they would discover that there are much better alternatives on the market.

The better ones we have reviewed are all natural, safe and effective. Just as it should be!
