Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Review
Is Green Tea an effective fat burner? Our Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Review will reveal the answer to this and also see if this is a product worth considering.
If it has the ingredients to impress, it just might make it onto our top recommended fat burners list. There are some illustrious names on there and having reviewed 100’s of supplements we know what to look out for.
But what is it that this product needs to do today? The following will impress:
- Burn fat effectively
- Be safe
- Suppress appetite
- Increase energy
Anything less and it doesn’t stand a chance.
Let’s see if there is enough good stuff but first of all, we will get to know it a little better.
Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Review: Who Makes This Product?
Here we have the US-based company behind this product.
They say that their use of soft gels makes them easy to swallow which is a neat marketing tool but isn’t the most impressive thing you will hear today.
Applied Nutrition does say that they use scientific research to create their formulas but we don’t know if they conducted this research themselves or not.
They seem to specialize in sexual health aids with a lot of libido enhancing products on their site. There are also collagen products aimed at women so they know their target markets well.
Applied Nutrition does advise taking a two-week break during a 90-day use and say it contains ingredients that may affect blood pressure, heart conditions and or blood sugar.
Interestingly there is a warning on their site for this product. Under the California Residents Proposition 65, they tell you that there is a chemical in this product known to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm so be wary of this if it might affect you.
Yerba Mate Powder and Holy Basil Extract could be the culprits for this and even Caffeine, however, they do not specify.
Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Ingredients
This is where we can really see if it is a product worth buying or not.
The early signs aren’t great. They do include a couple of proprietary blends although the overall dosage isn’t the most potent it still doesn’t let us know how much there is of each ingredient in the blend.
The suggested serving is two capsules taken twice a day. This doesn’t spread out the benefits all day long but still, there is a lot to get into so we’ll begin.
Green Tea Extract
An obvious ingredient given the name of the product.
To be honest, it is a great ingredient to put your weight behind. In terms of fat burning, it is among the best.
This is partly because it is thermogenic. This means it heats the body up on the inside, causing it to burn fat to cool itself down again. A great trait for a fat burner.
It contains a milder caffeine content than the likes of Caffeine Anhydrous as confirmed by WebMD who say Green Tea is about 2-4% Caffeine. This is great because it also provides a boost in both your thinking and alertness.
The polyphenols in Green Tea reduce oxidative stress and leave a calming effect.
The dosage of 800 mg is a big one that will be really beneficial.
An ingredient that certainly has a place in a product like this and one found in many of our top recommended fat burners.
The energy boost you will get will be welcome as part of any workout. Also, if you are using a fat burner alongside a diet that restricts calories, this will help to maintain energy levels.
Caffeine gets your body’s metabolism moving and would not be out of place in other supplements like pre workouts and nootropics.
The dosage of 320 mg is a good amount that should be well tolerated.
A relative of the cranberry it has its uses as an antioxidant. This is part of the antioxidant boost blend in the Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner weight loss pills.
You are going to find a lot of berries in this section of the product but this one might be good for blood sugar levels.
The problem is that it isn’t the most researched and proven fat burner. However, it does have links to reducing the body’s absorption of sugar and can increase insulin levels.
WebMD does say that there is insufficient evidence for its effectiveness in supporting weight loss although there are some studies that back it.
With what evidence it has, you would have to suggest it is an unproven fat burner.
Not that we are given the dosage anyway.
Another ingredient that might help to support healthy blood sugar levels.
There are studies conducted on rodents that show that taking Blueberries may change how the body stores and processes glucose or sugar for energy. (See WebMD)
This is a good trait but we can’t find any evidence of this being the case for human trials. We don’t go on animal studies as this isn’t always a reliable reference point for what we are after.
The dosage isn’t even given once again.
European Elder Powder
Sometimes used as a food flavoring it is an ingredient often used to boost the immune system.
It isn’t the most famous of fat burning ingredients and the likes of WebMD mention that it might be effective for relieving flu symptoms but there is nothing when it comes to fat loss.
It is thought to have antioxidant properties so they have included it in the right section of their product. The problem is we aren’t getting enough proven fat burners thus far.
The dosage is not given anyway so we have no idea how effective it could be.
Grape Skin Extract
Another that is high in antioxidants we are going to need a change of direction from the ingredients in this fat burner soon.
It is an ingredient that should be avoided when pregnant but can prevent high blood pressure. The antioxidants, of course, protect the blood vessels from damage.
The evidence is not overwhelming and since it is part of a proprietary blend with several other ingredients with a total of 200 mg combined, it is unlikely to have much of an effect.
It might help with muscle recovery but as far as most reliable sources say, this isn’t an effective fat burning ingredient.
You are more likely to find it in a pre-workout.
Otherwise known as Siberian Ginseng it is described by Examine.com as an adaptogen that may increase work capacity during strenuous aerobic activity.
This is good for getting the most out of your workout but there isn’t anything to it that will actually burn fat directly.
The problem with this theory as Examine continues is that the research into its effectiveness for aiding exercise performance is not very reliable.
Still, not a fat burning ingredient anyway and we have no dosage information. This is a trend in Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner weight loss pills.
Holy Basil Extract
Another adaptogen. It will help your body to deal with the effects of stress.
This is the proven side of this ingredient but the weight loss side is not so much. It is thought that it can help control cortisol levels but this is disputed.
It is likely to be Holy Basil Extract that the pre-mentioned warning from the California Residents Proposition 65 came from.
This is because it can negatively affect fertility and is an understudied ingredient. One to avoid for some people.
With a level of caffeine to it, Yerba Mate could help with fat loss.
It is thermogenic so another ingredient that will have you burning fat as you rest.
It is also beneficial for appetite suppression so it has its benefits for burning fat. However, the dosage is required to see if it can be effective.
Since the entire proprietary blend it is contained within totals 172 mg, this is unlikely to be the case. Especially since there are many ingredients in there as well.
Another adaptogen that helps the body to cope with stress this product is starting to feel a bit like a two trick pony!
It might aid endurance when exercising but there isn’t a lot of evidence to support this as of yet. It is most commonly used as medicine rather than food.
Schisandra Powder will help to prevent diseases by boosting your defenses but there is a lot of ground to be made up in terms of human trials to support any of this.
Another unproven ingredient. We wonder who is doing Applied Nutritions research for them?
The final ingredient.
Ginseng is one that we see in supplements all the time, just not fat burners. It is much more at home in a testosterone booster. This is because it is a stress reliever but also a reliable one. It also reduces prolactin levels.
It can help to boost cognition hence why it is also found in nootropic supplements as well.
Neither of these things is necessary for a fat burner when we are in need of proven ingredients that help to get you shredded.
This isn’t the ingredient for that and this isn’t the supplement either.
Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Side Effects
For the regular person, there isn’t anything in this product that should cause any concern.
If you are pregnant or if fertility is something that matters to you right now then Holy Basil Extract might be an ingredient to keep an eye on.
This product comes with its own warning remember as the Applied Nutrition website advises that it contains a chemical that is known to cause birth defects and reproductive harm according to the State of California Proposition 65.
However, it is a shame that Applied Nutrition does not advise which ingredient this is specifically.
Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Review Pros and Cons
Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Review Pros

- Green Tea and Caffeine dosed well
Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Review Cons
- Proprietary blend

- Ineffective ingredients
- Underdosed ingredients
- Serving suggestion not ideal
Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner Review Conclusion
Let’s just start by saying this is not a product that we would recommend here at CLM.
It just won’t be as effective as the better options on the market so why would we advise that you buy it?
Sure, it starts well and the Green Tea content is higher than a lot of top products. The problem is they kind of dwell on that. After Green Tea and Caffeine, the ingredients were mostly disappointing.
Not to mention the dosages are likely to be a let down as well due to the fact that the proprietary blends aren’t exactly potent.
What surprises us is that this sells so well on Amazon. Apparently people aren’t reading the label, instead, they see Green Tea and have heard of some of the benefits and just go with that.
Thankfully, there are enough people out there who care about what they put into their bodies and do their research. That is the only way of finding a fat burning that is truly going to work.
Applied Nutrition Green Tea Fat Burner is not one of those.
