4 Gauge vs The Curse Best Pre Workout Review

Not just any pre workout makes it onto our review section. Our 4 Gauge vs The Curse review promises to be a competitive one.

In order for a product to even be reviewed by us it must have caught the attention for one reason or another.

We prefer a pre workout to be completely natural. We care about what goes into your body through supplementation, after all, that’s what we are here for. To warn you against the bad ones and make sure you never settle for anything less than the best.

So, here we have two pre workouts, both with excellent reputations. They have both sold an incredible amount of units. Making them amongst the most popular you can find. But which is better from our two today? There is only room for one winner here so let’s look at the criteria for what makes a good pre workout.

Then see which of these supplements does it better?

What Makes a Good Pre Workout?

  • Natural Ingredients
  • Increased Focus
  • Enhanced Energy
  • More Strength

With this in mind, let’s see who is behind these two supplements before we get into the most important part, the ingredients!

4 Gauge vs The Curse: Who Makes These Products?

Roar Ambition 4 Gauge Pre Workout Supplement

The people who create 4 Gauge are Roar Ambition, a supplements company with a varied range of products, including the fat burner Instant Knockout, which is used by some of MMA’s top athletes when making weight.

They have an excellent reputation online since they always use 100% natural ingredients. They also have a generous money back guarantee so they clearly back their product.

What is also good about them is they review and amend their recipe every 3 months. This way they ensure that their customers are always getting the best possible version of their supplements.

Cobra Labs

Cobra Labs present The Curse, going by their other products they really do have distinctive packaging design, what else do we know about them?the curse pre workout review

A good sign is always that their facilities are FDA approved. This means they adhere to a certain standard when producing their products. They have been in the supplements world since 2010.

This sort of volume is incredible and proves that they are one of the big boys. It’s our job to see if the product is as good as the better pre workouts on the market.

They have a whole array of different supplements and distinctive merchandise so you wouldn’t be surprised if you saw some of their branding around the gym.

They believe their product is amongst the highest of quality around so let’s see if they can back up such claims.

4 Gauge vs The Curse Ingredients

This is where it gets interesting. Also, where we find out who has made the better product here. With both being highly rated and popular we were excited about this one… until we noticed that one of them uses proprietary blends…

Having taken an initial look at the labels, we thought it would be a close one until we saw that The Curse has many proprietary blends. This is when a company doesn’t disclose the dosages of many ingredients, instead, they bunch a group of ingredients together and label them under one blend. 🙁

This is potentially dangerous as when certain ingredients have high dosages they can come with some negative side effects. It can also mean you are not getting value for your money.

Even though they have used these blends, there is still a chance for The Curse if 4 Gauge doesn’t offer much in terms of ingredients. So let’s get to it and see what both of these have to offer.

Mutual Ingredients

L-Citrulline DI-Malate

Want incredible muscle pumps when in the gym? Then this is your ingredient. Great because it turns into L-arginine in your kidneys. This then helps to circulate your blood whilst raising nitric oxide levels in your body. And voila better muscle pumps than ever!

The optimum amount of 6,000 mg is included in 4 Gauge so they are off to a great start. The entire blend that this ingredient is contained within in The Curse amounts to only 1,000 mg in total. It is safe to assume that this is severely underdosed in comparison.

Creatine Monohydrate

One of the most famous supplement ingredients. Everyone knows it to be great for your recovery, hence it’s inclusion in many post workout formulas. Whilst it is good to get the recovery process going even when you are just getting going in the gym. It does have other uses in a pre workout.

It will give your strength a huge boost and will even provide more energy when doing so, therefore you will have a great chance of lifting even more than ever.

The amount contained in 4 Gauge is an excellent 1,000 mg so they have done well again, however. We can’t say much about the dosage in The Curse since it is contained within a proprietary blend.

Caffeine Anhydrous

This almost needs a section of its own in 4 Gauge because the caffeine they have is complimented by the inclusion of L-Theanine making a complete caffeine boost. The caffeine is obviously there to give you an energy boost to help you to get through those lulls in the gym.

But L-Theanine makes your body able to stay in control and stops and side effects that might occur through caffeine such as jitters.

L-Theanine also stops you from having a caffeine crash later in the day, so it offers a real beneficial experience.

The Caffeine is similar in both with 4 Gauge containing 150 mg, and The curse 155 mg. Although they have slightly more, the inclusion of L-Theanine in 4 Gauge is a real smart move. So we have to give them this one again. At least The Curse included the dosage on this one.

Individual  Ingredients

It’s been easy so far for 4 Gauge and they have had it all their own way here. Let’s see if there is anything in the notable ingredients for each supplement that might give a reason for The Curse to make a comeback.

4 Gauge

Red Beet

Some might see this as an unusual ingredient, but studies have shown time and again that this is an effective pre workout enhancer.

Another nitric oxide producer it allows your body to get those incredible pumps in the gym that you may have only dreamt of in the past.

4 Gauge are really going for it here and have so far included a lot of very beneficial ingredients at great dosages. This is no exception with 300 mg meaning you will find this to be of great benefit.

Acetyl L-Carnitine

If you want to feel more aware and focused in the gym then this is a must-have ingredient. Backed by various studies this will help you to work towards your goals without getting distracted.

The Curse

Beta-Alanine

Not a great start for The Curse here. Although it has been shown to have some pore workout benefits including enhanced endurance it isn’t without its side effects.

Beta-Alanine has been proven to cause paresthesia – this will cause you to itch and although this isn’t the worst side effect it can be very distracting in the gym. It will only occur if taken regularly and at a certain dosage. Since The Curse have included it within a proprietary blend, there is no way to tell if it is a high enough amount or not.

Citric Acid

Not a terrible ingredient although it could be a bit better. It has been shown to help your body to create more energy. Although there are more effective ingredients. Plus it’s another ingredient that is part of a blend so we couldn’t tell you just how effective it really is.

4 Gauge vs The Curse Side Effects

Neither product has any major side effects, and 4 Gauge particularly is safe due to the natural ingredients and lack of bad ones.

The Curse contains Beta-Alanine which can cause paresthesia – an inconvenient itching although it doesn’t last long.

4 Gauge vs The Curse Pre Workout Conclusion

Pre Workout Winner – 4 Gauge

Well, they both share a lot of the best ingredients but what separated them here was the openness of 4 Gauge. It’s always difficult for a supplement to get the upper hand when they use proprietary blends.

4 Gauge is just an all round brilliant pre workout. It has more quality ingredients than its rivals and the dosages are all spot on. On top of all this, there are zero side effects so it ticks a lot of boxes that other supplements do not.
